REIKi- A Brief description

Reiki is an energy healing technique that uses gentle touch to deliver energy to the client, thereby promoting relaxation and healing whilst reducing stress and anxiety.

developed in the 1920's by mikao usui, a Japanese theologian, ,the term reiki derives from the characters rei meaning universal spirit and Ki meaning life force energy. ki is the energy that flows through all living things and in other traditions is referred to as Chi, Qi or prana.

Reiki practitioners act as a conduit between the client and the source of the universal life force energy with The energy flowing through the practitioner’s hands

Reiki aids in healing by helping people become energetically balanced which encourages healing at all levels— physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Reiki complements other types of medical and therapeutic treatments but should not be used as a substitute for the consultation of a doctor or a psychotherapist.

A REiki treatment- What to expect

a full Reiki treatment typically lasts about 60 minutes. During a session the client lies on a massage table fully clothed. the practitioner gently places their hands, palms down, on or just above the body in specific energy locations using a series of different hand positions.

The length of time that the practitioner leaves their hands in each position is determined by the flow of energy through their hands at each location,

some people experience the energy in the form of sensations such as heat, tingling or pulsing in the area where the Reiki practitioner places their hands. Others do not perceive any sensations at all.

Most people feel very relaxed and peaceful during reiki treatment and many fall asleep during the process.
